About The SoundMind Project

The SoundMind Project is a network of physicians, patients, artists, and philosophers who are working to build self-sustaining medical models by leveraging digital technology, utilizing their community’s cultural assets, and encouraging participation among patients and providers within existing healthcare systems.

Our headquarters is in Philadelphia, PA and we place a strong emphasis on involvement in our local community.  We are also involved in projects throughout the world including Brazil, Bangladesh, India, Jamaica, and Bhutan.

Spread the Word

We believe that technological innovations can be leveraged to tackle the most complex of human diseases, and that if given the tools to improve their health, people will choose to use them.

Our mission is to build self-sustaining medical models by leveraging digital technology, utilizing a community’s cultural assets, and encouraging participation among patients and providers within existing healthcare systems.

  • We aim to highlight the importance of priority setting in every field of medicine. We create educational videos and communication streams in order to to bridge the gap between ethicists and governmental organizations who are faced with difficult decisions involving medical shortages.
  • We use visual media and art to bridge gaps in health and illness, to create support systems for those that need them, and to reduce stigma of disease.
  • We aim to break down traditional role-based healthcare models and create one of facilitation and education, to help people see that ultimately they are the ones responsible for achieving a balanced and healthy body and mind.
  • We believe that the development of flourishing local networks will facilitate healthier bodies and minds, so we place a strong emphasis on strengthening local communities and parks in addition to health care provision.
