The SoundMind Project is a network of physicians, patients, artists, and philosophers who are working to build self-sustaining medical models by leveraging digital technology, utilizing their community’s cultural assets, and encouraging participation among patients and providers within existing healthcare systems. Our headquarters is in Philadelphia, PA and we place a strong emphasis on involvement in our local community. We are also involved in projects throughout the world including Brazil, Bangladesh, India, Jamaica, and Bhutan.


The Volunteer Grant Writer will be responsible for seeking out, writing, and winning grant proposals from public, private, and government sources; ensuring that The SoundMind Project is represented professionally and accurately in all written materials; working closely with our development director to highlight The SoundMind Project’s operational strength’s and unique mission in all proposals; tracking status of all grant proposals and preparing reporting with project timelines for Executive Director

Skills / Experience

The ideal volunteer candidate will have experience as a non-profit grant writer, preferably for organizations dealing with global health initiatives, with a proven track record of writing and winning grants from both public and private sources. Excellent writing and project management skills, as well as knowledge of the nonprofit landscape and grant writing best practices are required. We seek an energetic and self-motivated leader who is consistent, disciplined, and organized with a positive and can-do personality!


This position is on a volunteer basis, but with a strong possibility for compensation with proven success.
